Crush4Fun – is OUR definition of an “Online Crush”
Have you ever been traveling somewhere and wanted to stay just a bit longer, but then thought to yourself “I don’t have any clean clothes” well, that’s exactly what happened to blog creator Monica Wong. She wanted to spend just one more day in Hangzhou, China and as a result of her ability to go without a clean pair of panties for a day she came up with the blog A Pair of Panties & Boxers that is now this week’s Crush4Fun.
Monica Wong is a social media professional that was born and raised in New York City. During her undergraduate studies she had the opportunity to study abroad in Shanghai where she volunteered at a migrant school and was able to learn about her Chinese heritage. Since Monica has not had the opportunity to extensively travel internationally she has opened up her blog to other writers to contribute. She allows them to share their travel experiences and advice in order to give her readers the insight they are looking for about global travel. Whether you’re interested in learning about the best independent book stores in New York, how to deal with culture shock or how to best tour Seville, Spain, her blogs are extensive enough that they’re actually helpful. There are also a significant amount of photographs contributed by professional and amateur photographers that add that extra pizazz to the entries and make you want to go on your own adventure.
One of the most important things that she says in her blog is that she believes traveling isn’t necessarily leaving the country, but it’s leaving your bubble. She believes you can travel locally and in your hometown by simply experiencing new things; in Monica’s case it’s taking a New York tour like she’s a visitor and seeing a Mets game at Citi Field for the very first time. She writes about local shops, local museums and her own random local adventures to show that there are hidden wonders in every city. A Pair of Panties & Boxers is an inspiration for individuals who may not be able to travel internationally or even nationally to go out and explore the area which they live in. She proves that you don’t have to go far to discover, see and do something new but that your next big adventure just might be in your own backyard.
